The provincial executive council of the Insaf Doctors Forum (IDF) has lauded the filling of key positions at the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) and Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) but expressed concern over the delaying tactics in the appointment at the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).
IDF President Dr. Nadir Afridi, general secretary Dr. Kamran Durrani and other members spoke at a meeting here on Tuesday.
The IDF appreciated the selection of key positions including medical directors, hospital directors, through competitive process of interviews in KTH, HMC and Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH).
They, however, express concern over the delaying tactics in selection at important positions at the LRH.
Besides LRH, the IDF office-bearers said important positions at KTH were yet to be filled due to stay orders of courts.
They hoped the Peshawar high court could soon decide the litigation on merit in the best interest of patients.
The IDF council asked the provincial government to actively pursue the cases.
The IDF leadership expressed concern over the alleged poor performance of the Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Law Department in pursuing litigations with regard to the Medical Teaching Institutions Reforms Act 2015.
