Two persons, including a child, were killed while a woman sustained injuries in separate road accidents in the district on Monday, official resources said.
They said that four-year old Muhammad Amir and his mother were standing on the roadside when a speeding vehicle struck them. As a result, Amir was killed on the spot while his mother sustained injuries.
The injured woman was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan where her condition was stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, 18-year old Talha, got knocked over by a speeding truck, leaving him dead on the spot. The body was transported to the hospital for autopsy and was handed over to the family members for a burial. The police registered separate cases and started investigation.
While on the other side in Takht Bhai, the police arrested 28 proclaimed offenders (POs) and seized arms during crackdown against the outlaws in various areas, official sources said.
They said the police launched crackdown in various areas in the limits of the Shergarh, Takht Bhai, Lund Khwar and Saro Shah police stations and arrested 28 POs.
The police seized three kalashnikovs, one repeater, 20 pistols and one kg of hashish from their possession.
