Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Leader from Chitral Irshad Javed Advocate has lauded the federal government for allocating sufficient funds for the Lowari Tunnel in the budget.
Talking to a group of journalists here, Irshad Javed said that work on the Lowari Tunnel had been expedited soon after the PML-N came into power.
“The vital project was totally ignored in the previous Pakistan People’s Party led government. However, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif honored his pledges and vowed to complete the project at all costs,” he said.
Irshad Javed said the Lowari Tunnel would usher in a new era of development in the region upon completion.
He said the people of Chitral were praying for the early recovery of prime minister from the heart surgery, he hoped the prime minister would recover soon and complete his national agenda of development by 2018.
The PML-N leader also asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to launch development work instead of promoting culture of protests.
While on the other side, the Snow Leopard Foundation organized the one-day seminar on the World Environment Day (WED) on Sunday in Chitral.
